The Insurance Department’s new system provides a step-by-step guide that explains how to enter information and even attach documents electronically (and you can still mail or fax them). Best of all, it’s available at any time, day or night. You don’t have to take time from your workday, and you don’t have to sit on the phone waiting for “the next available representative” to become available.
If you have a complaint about the way your insurance company is treating you about any insurance matter–car, motorcycle, home or health–file a complaint with the Connecticut Insurance Department. And if you can’t use the new online service, you can reach the Consumer Affairs Unit at (800) 203-3447 or, in the Hartford dialing area, at (860) 297-3900. Of course, it can’t hurt to call a lawyer for a free consultation. At Glass, Lebovitz, Kasheta & Bren, we’re only a phone call away.
