Hit and run accidents are something we hate to see. However, all too often we talk with injured people who have been hit, either while walking, biking, or driving, by a driver who fled the scene. Recent high profile cases in Connecticut are a sober reminder that drivers often panic and flee the accident they have caused.

Injured during a hit and run accident in Connecticut? You are not alone.

Being hit by a driver with no insurance or worse, a driver who flees the scene, can be a frustrating, even maddening experience.  When a driver hits a pedestrian as they cross the street the results are all too often deadly.  A recent ruling on a tragic hit and run accident is a sober reminder that drivers can panic after causing an accident, leaving the victim alone and very likely seriously injured.

We talk about hit and run accidents because they happen so often.  If the driver who caused the accident leaves the scene and no information is gathered about their car or license plate there may be nothing you can do about the accident.  However, often witnesses and surveillance video can help identify the vehicle and, ultimately, the driver.

If you have been injured in a hit and run accident be sure to file a report with the police.  It is imperative that you mention every detail of the accident and that if you remember something about the driver or car at a later date that you give this information to the police.  Any information you have may very well be the key to catching the driver.
