We recently reported on a serious dog attack in Middletown, Conn. A young girl was bitten multiple times in the face and has since been through reconstructive surgery in an attempt to fix her damaged eyelid. When talking about dogs and children we like to think about a boys best friend growing up. However, we must all do our best to protect our children from the serious injuries caused by a dog attack.

Middletown, Conn. Child Bit by Dog

For the little girl bit by a dog at her father's house the scars, both emotionally and physically , are just beginning to heal.  As dog bite attorneys in Connecticut we see all too many children viciously attacked by dogs.  The recovery for the victim can be long and painful.  Aside from physical recuperation and the possibility of multiple surgeries there is the real chance that the child has been damaged emotionally.  An attack from a dog often leaves the child with a lifelong fear of dogs.  A fear that can make everyday activities, such as going to the park, a nightmare for the entire family.

To help prevent such trauma we have been focusing on ways to prevent dog bites and attacks.  Though we strongly believe that the dog owner is responsible for their animals behavior there are ways children and adults can protect themselves from dog attacks.  Listed below are a few tips for dog owners and non-owners alike.  We hope that the information provided here will help you avoid a dog bite or attack.  Please click on the underlined links below to read the full articles.
